Sunday fishing day at Duncton Mill: November 22
The fourth Sunday of November promises another good day in the calendar.
Duncton Mill is a fantastic day out. Every time we get to visit this fishery, we have a great day. There are some big lakes with deep holes, with buzzers and wet flies being the choice flies of the day. Big bright lures don’t normally prove successful here, and the fish fight well.
This is a syndicate water for most of the year, but each winter they open and sell day tickets. Duncton Mill is just above Petworth, at the base of the scarp slope of the South Downs.
Never easy—but always fun, and the lodge with real coffee and cake on occasions is a blessing with the wood fire to stay warm. Traditional patterns and patience tend to rule the day.
Lined up after this are further fishing Sundays on the 13th and 28th December. Fluidity caused by Covid 19 restrictions can mean that these dates are subject to confirmation, so be sure to check back often!
